How has the QRC space impacted you?
A safe space for Queer and trans people, the QRC has made me feel welcome when I was uncertain about my place in higher education. I am a STEM student, and I don’t always feel welcome in the large lecture environments that barely have any queer people, but the QRC in cloud hall is always accessible and has the friendliest environment and people working there. The first time I felt fully welcome at ccsf was when I first set foot in the cloud QRC space, and it has changed my time here to be more positive and uplifting. PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE THE CLOUD ROOM FROM QRC!
What about the QRC do you think would be lost in the move to a smaller space?
The ability to congregate, pursue academic excellence, and distribute resources would be significantly decreased in a smaller space. What makes the space QRC has been in so great is that there can be informative community meetings while others do work or move about the center. Limiting the capacity of the QRC will take away its core goals of providing resources and safety to queer students. I will personally feel less welcome if the QRC is moved to a smaller space.
